It's the insurance that'll hurt.
Depends on where you live and some other factors but your age is an issue - I'd be surprised if you could get insurance for less than £1,000 and I don't know if they'd load you for the blindness in the eye - I suspect they would due to the depth perception
Insurance won't cost a lot more, provided you have adjusted to the loss of sight in one eye.

How you lost the sight in your bad eye will make a difference. Was it an accident or a medical condition that caused it?

i was born with it, its a cateract.
i dont think my depth perception is really bad cause im used to the way i see things now.

so its the insurance i need to worry about more than everything else?
As it is a cataract, I think you would be better off speaking to your optician or GP. The main concern would be one developing in your other eye.
Yes Insurance is very expensive for young drivers in any case.

My son's insurance (18) was nearly £2,000 just as a named driver on my wife's Fiesta
jake-the-peg is way out, obviously not needed insurance for a young driver recently , £3000 to £5000 is more close to the mark. The insurance will be far more than the cost of the car . My 26 year old daughter in law pays £2800 a year and that is with 1 years NCB. For a car that cost £300!!
lumination, for a better idea go on one of the comparison web sites and put in you details . What you see may well make you decide not to bother with the cost of driving.
Actually EDDIE that's not always true, my son got insurance with NFU for way less than £1,000, for young drivers they always seem to be cheaper than any of the specialists companies that offer young driver special premiums- it does also of course matter where you live- don't think we've had a crime round here since 1685 and it was only for a Daewoo Matiz.
