It passed through my town last week, but didnt go and watch as i don't like crowds, and as I use walking stick I didnt want to get jostled and lose my balance. Now I wish i had, as its part of history. Was I daft, or is it daft thinking about it?

whatever made you comfortable at the time.
you were concerned about your personal safety - rightly too - and that had to be paramount.

as they say ... "done's done" it would be daft to now regret what cannot be changed.
I saw it while I was on holiday bagpuss and was lucky enough to see it in amongst a housing area where there were no crowds at all. But like you I wouldn't have bothered if it had meant jostling with others 10 people deep.

The torch bearer we saw made it quite a memorable occasion for us, but in general you could go a long way to see it and then you can blink and miss it.

Don't feel sad you missed it, instead follow it online and feel part of history that way.

why not keep the local paper as a memento of the day, but it was very hot and busy where we went today! x
bagpuss, you did the right thing, your safety must come first.
You did the right thing, bagpuss,
I don't think I'd go out my way to see it either if it meant crowds, etc

It'll be passing through my road soon, so I just might take a look out the window! lol..
You could buy one on e-bay bagpuss!
I'm looking forward to the Olympic torch reaching Yorkshire.
Can't wait to see the reactions when someone wearing white runs through Bradford carrying a flaming torch.
made me laugh DT......I'm sure George Galloway wil have something to say
