Just seen a magnificent display of the Red Arrows from my back garden. Just wondered where they were displaying at, but looking at their website, the display season does not start until early June.
Perhaps they were just practicing, but we are a fair distance from their base in Lincolnshire, so i wouldn't think that likely.
Does anyone know?. We are located about midway between Selby and Leeds.

is there just countryside where they were? maybe they wanted to practice somewhere where there are no towns or villages should there be a crash
denis........Leeds is no distance from Scampton in aeronautical terms.....I agree, they were probably just rehearsing.
Yeah, rehearsals. They train in Cyprus too.
When stationed there in the 80's they put on a display not far from Dhekelia, kinda got the feeling they were just showing us Pongo's(RAF derogatory term for the Army) their shiny new penis extensions!

But what an extension eh? Better than any Ferrari!
Southend air festival this weekend, dont know if they are going to appear though, BBMF will be there.
We were at Akrotiri, Cyprus in the 80's, and we used to get 3 displays each day for three weeks every spring. One year, one of them crashed, so they were there practising for another 10 weeks while they trained up the replacement pilot.
Probably saw your coat of arms denis and put on a special display for you. Thought you were someone important.
