Is there a time limit for hatred?

Let's bring race into it (hoorah, I hear you cry)...if a black chap from the Deep South who'd witnessed lynchings in the 40s and 50s had said, "The only good white man is a dead white man", would that be more or less shocking than what Mr Moore had said?

Indeed - should we be shocked at all?

AOG, quite frankly i couldn't give a damn about any of it.
A lot of bad things have happened in the past - as well as a lot of good things. It is always good when people learn from experience and build on the good while attempting to avoid repeating the bad. Laying blame and demanding apologies for what was done by past generations is pretty pointless; the main thing is to avoid the repetition. Regrettably we are led time and time again into wars by politicians who aren't the ones who go out and face the bullets (at least the kings and lords a few hundred years ago faced the enemy themselves). But looking back half a century later, or however long it may be, and saying that all the ordinary people should be castigated for what happened then is useless. It is sad that Patrick Moore has harboured such bitterness for so long against people who are blameless.
i totally agree. Move on..
