I would like to be able to make public on my resident machine an address book so other people can connect to the address book over the internet. how do I do that? how do the remote users connect to the PC how can I do this...

I have an address book that a database shares id like a remote user to be able to share that address book help please

I'd urge you not to allow public connections to your own machine over the internet; it'll be incredibly insecure.
If you have a website, host the database on that. Or set up a free acccount with some web host, and post you address book there for everyone.

Does everyone in your address book agree to their addresses being made public?

what im using is a CRM software that acceses a database folder containing all files : inorder for me to connect in a worgroup the second computer can sharethe same folder. Ive set it up in a LAN. but i need to do it over the internet so when a user logs in he sees my computers shared folder..and connects his database to it.
if there no way you can have your computer negotiate with a 3rd remote server somewhere, which the other computer can also negotiate with? this would be far more secure.
btw.. what you're after is VPN software.
