On 18th Feb I applied to United Utilities for a water meeting to be fitted. On 14th March they came to do an inspection and said it would be fitted under the pavement in front of our drive . They painted the existing water cover blue and said they dig a hole and fit the meter in around 4 weeks' time. That was 6 weeks ago and we are still waiting. I'll have to ring their call centre next week to chase it up, but before I do I was wondering whether anyone here could tell me how long it normally takes. Thanks

For Thames Water it is 50 days from the date of customer application if they fail to do the job within that period.

I've recently been through this also and the company have now written to me confirming that the different rate (estimated once actual usage is established for a meter-fitting) will be deemed to have applied from the 50-day deadline. BM
