My daughter signs on for js allowance. Also she was worjing as a careworker about 2 hours a day. She got her wages deducted from the allowance. But now the work is hardly awailble as a careworker or if there is work available at the firm it could be at nightime hours
So my question is does she tell the job centre that the work is hardly available any more. Does she have to get a P45 and also what does she tell the firm as to leaving work(one or 2 hours a week is pointless esp odd hours
What advice please and also is there a contact no where her queries can be answereed wothout realeasing her identity?

thanks

If it was casual work as I assume it was, just tell the job centre she has not worked since the last claim. Don't be scared of phoning the job centre and asking for advice , they would far rather claimants told them the full story , they will not penalise her for being honest. They may well contact the people she worked for and confirm her working hours.

Simply tell the jobcentre that she is no longer working and ask them to adjust the claim.
What Eddie suggests seems the best solution, but she must actually leave the job. I assume she has been paid through the payroll so she should get a P45.

How does she phrase a reply to the company to get her P45?
The job centre may say she left on her own accord which could effect the allowance. But half hour now and then working in a week is no good Work can be there but at ungodly hours

Please advise thnks

My son was in the same situation, some times he had some casual work for a few hours, the job centre just accepted what he told them about the times he had worked and payed accordingly.
