i was watching the news, and it would seem Sarkhozy is still in with a chance. The socialist opponent also looks very strong. However he has promised that if he is elected, anyone earning over 850,000, a lot of money
admittedly, will be slapped with a 75 per cent tax, ouch. What should be
worrying is that Marine Le Pen also is picking up lots of points on immigration and the economy, so who will she throw her lot in with.

I think Sarkozy might've blown it.

Unless Carla can save him.

Although she looks a bit weird now, since she had her face lift.

She should've matured gracefully, like French women do. Then she would've attracted votes for her husband.

Her surgery is too tight. She looks like she's sky diving.

You may disagree with her politics, but there is no need to get 'catty'.
Saucer of cream for you, JJ?

To answer the question, at this moment in time I'd have to say.......

Not Sarkozy. Best I could do, sorry!

According to this, I don't think Sarkozy will get any support from Le-Pen, but then I can't see her supporting a socialist.

What I think will happen is that very many Far-Right supporters will give their vote in favour of Sarkozy.
Sarko could pull it off, he is a sly little s0d. The French however vote with their hearts and although Sarko would be my choice for his pragmatism and energy I think Hollande will win it and France will fall asleep again and get left behind by the rest of the world. Whether France can support it's population of 'suits' in the manner to which they have become accustomed is another matter.
I think you will find that at the fringes of the political spectrum, "right" and "left" becomes blurred. Both extremes have more in common than you might think, especially when faced with a severely stressed euro, mass immigration, cutbacks in state and social spending, and job insecurity. Protectionism becomes the order of the day. You can see quite marxist principles in play if you take a look at the BNP manifesto in the UK, for instance.....

Shouldn't that be the TWO two-faced liars tabathazig?

If I had an affiliation to the Lib Dem party I'd be apoplectic at the way Nick Clegg has reneged and completely u-turned on some of the promises he made.

I expected it from DC and reckoned that Clegg might keep some of his ideas in check but he's just touched his toes and let the old Etonian do him up the wrong 'un.

we should all be concerned i reckon because what happens over the channel will affect us, whether we like it or not. There has been a lot of head in the sand going on, and their politicians as much as ours have been ignoring what has been staring them in the face for so long. Austerity measures that are being imposed will not suit all if any, French or otherwise. This gives the far right lots of ammunition, and the fact is Marine Le Pen has made a lot of people sit up and take notice, with stirring debates about control of immigration, and unemployment. If
she throws her lot in with the opponent of Sarkhozy, Francoise Hollande
then can see the whole European package start to crumble.
