GREAT news...but the headline is a bit misleading. You know when you hear that someone has been 'jailed for life', don't you automatically assume that means 25 years?

In this case, one of the shooters got 14 years, which sound nothing like 'life' to me.

yes, i meant to put 'life' in brackets!
Very welcome news that these dangerous men are off of the streets for a long time.
Yes good riddance to them, agree in such cases life should mean life, I just cannot see why it doesn't.

Many on this site are always ready to have a go at our police, but are a little slow in praising them.

But let me put it on record that what these detectives are doing to raise money for this little girl, needs the utmost praise, good for you chaps well done.

/// A team of detectives who investigated the case will take on the Three Peaks Challenge in September to raise money for the vital care and equipment Thusha now requires. ///
Its not long enough, I don't consider that 25 years would be enough. They are relatively young "men" that little girl has a true life sentence.

And as AOG says se to the Police for what they are doing.
No, it is not long enough at all. These smirking idiots have runing this innicent girls life and the familly around her. If not bankged up for life they should at least be banged up until they are very old men and not capable of ever committing a crime like this again. As it is, with one having a sentence of just 14 yrs, he will no doubt be out shooting people again.
Savages! Yes it could be enough if they actually did life.
So are you advocating their execution?

Not really justice is it?
She is the one with the life sentence.
I'm no expert on law and neither am I saying that thse peple shouldn't be locked up for ever - indeed I think they should be - but I'm petty sure that a "life" sentence means that when they come out they are on licence. Chances are they'll break the terms of their licence and end up back inside. They're a total waste of fresh air!
^ sorry - lots of missing letters there!
Release them soon. Just tell us where and when.
The pictures of that little child in her wheelchair are heartbreaking. It's just not fair.
in their world she is collateral damage, vile creatures.
I hope they suffer in jail. People who hurt kids aren't popular in jail.
