dry fruit cake

Ideas please to use up some fruit cake thats gone a bit dry, i should'nt have made such a big one, force of habit when you have been feeding a family for years, then there's just two.

Pour a little brandy/sherry/cognac on some slices. Let it soak for a while and serve with either carnation milk or custard :-)

Make a syrup from runny honey and rum spoon over wrap in clingfilm and leave to stand overnight... by the morning sticky rum cake....

could you make a kind of bread and butter pudding using the cake instead of the b&B?

Bread and butter pudding idea works really well also a sort of trifle soak the cake in ginger wine make a rich custard and top with whipped cream with finely chopped glace ginger on top
As a variation on alba's suggestion, soak it in rum and serve with chocolate sauce. I've tried it and it's luvverly.
Another option... tin of Carnation caramel sauce in bottom of bowl slices of fruitcake, chopped dated and more caramel sauce bake in oven for 20 mins for a quick stickytoffee pudding

crumb well and mix in a jar of mincemeat and some glace cherries add half a cup of self raising flour a teaspoon of baking powder d half a cup of suet and two eggs and half a cup of a mixture of rum, brandy and sherry put in a mixing bowl and steam for about an hour tastes like a lightish l christmas pudding
cut a slice and spread a bit of butter on it! hmmm, lovely!
soak it in guinness

thanks chaps, think i might go with rowans idea, and try to remember the others as its bound to happen again.
Stir it through vanilla ice-cream with some rum or brandy over the top
