Did anyone watch that superb Channel 5 programme, the 25th Anniversary performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, from the Albert Hall?

The only problems were that it was screened at 13.40 on Easter Monday, and interrupted regularly by all those annoying adverts.

Really enjoyed it ,except as you say the constant adverts, made me want to go and see it again
No, I didn't know that was on. I wish I had as it's one of my favourites, so thanks for the link. As luck would have it, hubby's out tonight, so I'll settle down to watch it with a box of chocs and a good supply of hankies.
Going to watch it in Manchester next month - can't wait !

I didn't see the Channel 5 programme.
Wow, I missed that !!! My all time favourite musical. I saw it in London in feb and it was fantastic. Would love to go and see it again but I think it cost about £50 per ticket. Well, It was a special birthday.
Must watch that link. Trouble is, whenever I see anything from phantom , I cant get the songs out of my head

The DVD is available from play.com and Amazon for £6.99 free p&p.

The show has a very enjoyable finale, with appearances from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sarah Brightman, Michael Crawford, and other members of the original cast.
Loved it, aog. As an ex wardrobe mistress,am dram, would walk on hot coals to costume this one.
It was fantasic! I saw the dvd in HMV yesterday but didn't bother with it since i've got the film anyway. Can't wait until October when I go for real!! :-)
Ive already got the dvd too and could watch it forever.
I loved it but missed the beginning, I have the original dvd but thought this was much better as it was on stage.
Gosh I didn't know this was on (out for the day on Easter Monday) so really sorry I missed it - do you know if it will be repeated? Also is the DVD the recording of this special Anniversary Show as I just loved the ending where they brought on the original cast members including the wonderful Michael Crawford.
Typical its only on catch up until tomorrow lunchtime so no time to watch it all (I just skipped it all to get the best bits)
Have just seen that the DVD on sale is of this particular Anniversary concert so have just ordered it - great!
