this is getting so repetitive now with chas and slimball cammeron,
so chas is missing arron, who she didn't bother with as a child for the first 15 years and she wanted a chance to day a proper goodbye." hes gone to France dear" on a clear day you can it from dover !!
i'm afraid coro is now becoming our favourite soap (out of the two we watch) never though i'd say that, always been a emmerdale stalwart

Just switch the TV off completely and read a book- I will never understand how people can bear to watch Soap Operas.
people watch soaps because they want some escapism from their lives, and for the most part the characters lives are far worse than their own, so perhaps it makes them feel a bit better. It's a habit as well, one i break as often or not, as some storylines are dragged out, some too ludicrous for words.
I dip in form time to time, usually school holidays when I have the time as I get that time off as well
They are easy to watch, mind numbing programmes that can help people with their serious topics that are often portrayed very well.
They do also, on more than a few occasions, get things quite wrong

i cant understand how you cant understand that some people can bear to watch "soaps"
Ah- too many negatives in one sentence that explains everything ;-)
Emmerdale never bin tsame since Mat Scilbeck left to run a tNorfolk sheepfarm ...happen.
I was a Fraser Hines fan since he was in Dr Who anyway.

I watch them if I'm home or on the omnibus catchup if I need to relax, now I'm looking forward to a christmas tragedy or the street and emmerdale, my predictions are Tommy Duckworth dies under a bus just as Tina gets preganant and the baby Debbie Dingle is carrying turns out to be cameron's not andy's even though it is a match for sarah but cameron has run off with chas before they find out,

you mean planet earth?
Nox, I hope you were reading non-fiction, otherwise it's a version of a soap! Dickens published in instalments, just like Emmerdale etc etc, at which people love to sneer.
Bl00dy hell talk about taking yourselves too seriously, actually I tend to read histories and biographies mostly if you must know although I'm not adverse to novels and plays either. Since I appear to have affronted the soap watching masses I will bow out and leave you to the joys of Coronation Street, Eastenders, Emmerdale or whatever other horror happens to egg your puddings;-)
I'm with NOX on this one.
I'll never be able to fathom how anyone can watch a soap on a regular basis yet complain about the story lines!
You MUST know that you'll be getting 30 minutes of mind-numbing, dumbed down pap with an oft repeated scenario/storyline, ad infinitum?
Really, what else would you expect?
I feel the same about the Grand Prix. Cars going round and round and round and round and round..... fair drives me bonkers, so it does.

Yet my OH could watch it with great enthusiasm for hours, days, weeks even.

(Sorry to digress there, Alan).
