cheers for that, the system is a total joke...this guy has been scamming it for years...then gets extra !!
they are tightening up, you could always report him anonymously if you feel he is claiming fraudulently

it ges worse, hes living in the west country and claiming from an address in london !
How come you know so much of his personal details?

If you were that affronted you'd have reported him long ago.
Manjo, do alcoholics get more money? Just like that?
Alcoholics deserve more money ... have you seen the price of beer ? I've just got home from the pub, and it's only 10.00pm ... have been paying £3.50 a pint all afternoon... scandalous..!
There is no benefit called Disability Allowance but there are various benefits paid to those who are sick or have a disability. What age is he and how long has he been getting the benefit he receives.
It's called Disability Living Allowance. The highest rate of the care element plus the lower rate of the mobility element come to £186.30 each 2 weeks. It's possible the extra is due to the annual increase in rates which applies from start of April. Otherwise, it must be something different - not DLA at all.

It is not correct that alcoholics get more.

The extra will not be a winter fuel payment - that is either a much larger one off sum for pensioners or a smaller sum paid only during weeks of exceptionally cold weather.
PS You really should report him (anonymously if you wish) - he should not be claiming from one address & living elsewhere, quite apart from your concern about whether he is entitled to the benefit.
