Or I get it, savoury as opposed to sweet rice. Plain white rice is not tool fattening and about 300 calories for 100g.

Depends on whats in it and how much you eat
Question Author
No idea what is in it, just basic white rice, boiled.
''No idea what is in it''

Not much help.
If it's just plain rice, it's not savoury - savoury is when you add things like egg, or prawns, or peas.
Hi Spotit3
Do you mean Mr Benn's Savoury Rice - bung in the microwave for 2 minutes?

I eat it once a week with some stir fry veg and a dash of soy sauce. I don't think its too fattening unless like me, you have a tendancy to eat a whole packet to yourself! Even so its still a good healthy option.

How's your weekend been?

^^too
stir fried, a little nut oil or rapeseed oil, prawns, green and red peppers, chillis, cherry toms, some herbs (what "fresh" you have in the kitchen), and yum, prawns no more than a minute -just as they go pink.....
what is also good and non fattening is wild rice - not actually a rice.....

also your rice could also take some flakes of salmon or trout instead of prawns without killing the calories or fat levels.
But is it fattening DT? That was the question; we're in the weight loss topic.
Nope.

Thanks Maidup, it was savoury as opposed to pudding rice that I meant. Been in bed three days with flu, just made it up today but feel like a bus has hit me. On the plus side I should have lost some weight because of it! How has your week been?
Awww poor you spotit3, hope you feel better soon.

I've had a reasonable week but been a bit naughty this weekend. I always find it more difficult to keep on track when I'm at home and off work. Things like toast or sandwiches for lunch as opposed to salad or rice which I have during the week. But I have been fairly active out in the garden today and and will be back to the salads tomorrow.

Keep warm and drink plenty of fluids. (((hugs)))

Thanks for hugs Maidup. I am usually an optimistic person so hopefully when I awake in the morning I will feel much better. Your work in te garden will ave used up a few calories so no harm done with lunch. :)
