Just found out that over 65s and those with a Blue Badge are exempt from the hosepipe ban for gardening if they come under South East Water. I checked under Anglian Water who are showing that those with a Blue Badge or severe mobility problems are exempt, but it doesn't mention age. It is worth checking the website for your local water authority!

Ah thank you DT. I shall have prize winning lavender. Electric saw in bin. Could see how to fix it but couldn`t get in to do it. I`m sure they are designed to be difficult. Resorted to hand saw. Daughter in deepest SW. says no ban for her. I`m saving all I can before the ban hits here but after today with the fence and saw Anglian Water would need no convincing that I am well over sixty five!
i had to re-read your question! I thought at first it said Blue peter Badge!
got quite angry wondering why someone who drew a picture aged 8 and sent it in to blue peter is now expempt from the hose pipe ban!!!!
Sorry,LoftyLottie,I didn't mean to sound insensitive.I was just thinking of some friends who would not even be able to hold a hose-pipe.Should have thought more before answering.
I could get an exemption if I had a Blue Badge (which I haven't) but not for being over 65. Depends what authority you come under, I presume. I may have to water everything with San Pellegrino.
Severn Trent say on their website, they are not imposing any restrictions.

I have to admit that the exemption for blue badges was extremely well hidden on Anglian Water's website!!
