I have a Parson Jack Russell who will be 9 this year. He's been a bit off lately, not the dog I know. The past few nights he's been acting odd.. it started suddenly, chasing imaginary things around the floor, it comes and goes but he just jumps up randomly and starts chasing nothing and then stares at the walls, like as if he's following something around the room but there is nothing there! He's been eating fine but I havent seen him drink anything for days and he's also started urinating ALOT...

I'm taking him to the vets but cant get there until after the weekend. So was just wondering if anyone knew what the cause could be or has any ideas until I can get him there??

I must admit I was a bit disappointed that people on here had doubted madness. I looked through her earlier postings and found no problems at all. None of them seemed like a wind up.

Glad your dog is OK Madness. I too have had new floaters (old age!!!) The brain does adjust and you do stop noticing them. I wish my dog would stop noticing flies!!!
Just wondering now whether my dog who is ten this year has the same problem. I have blamed it on the flies perhaps I am wrong.
Have never heard of this before - as I mentioned before I would still ask to be referred to an eye specialist to be certain its not something that can be treated
Sorry, still think it's a wind up ......
our cat had kidney failure. She got rather swollen She stared at imaginary moving things. The Vet said the kidney problem made blood vessels in her eye swell, causing distortions that confused the cat into thinking she saw movement everywhere.
Why would it disappoint you LL - it's not your post !!
