as Chatterbank is used by so many AB'ers I wanted to let you all know, well I suppose mum's mostly, how to easily get Nit lotion free without a prescription. Your GP can write you one if you ask but you can go to any pharmacy and fill out a 'minor ailments form' and get a free bottle of either Lyclear or Derbac - these are the only 2 they can give you

hope that helps someone
Although not keen in chemicals myself at times it is the only way to get rid

forgot to say ... but only if you're entitled to free scripts =)
Is the shelf life long?

If so, reckon it's worth getting a bottle and putting it away for the 'when it happens' situation?
Ahhhh
Hi oj, thanks for that advice, my partner and I get free prescriptions and I have taken a look at minor ailments forms which list things one might be entitled to help with. While we buy medication to treat the most of these things , it is nice to know help is available if we ever need it, thanks again !
I take it im not hte only one who read this title and had a wee scratch of my head!

Boo, it is directly off the shelf so it'll be as long a life as the store has
Children get free scripts dont forget =)
When we managed a Baton Twirling troupe the only thing we ever used was a good conditioner rubbed into the hair, left on for an hour and then combed out with a nit comb, very successful and worked every time with one treatment as long as you are thorough.
Ratter - why did you have to deal with their nits?
Question Author
yep, that's generally what I use at home, Ratter, but one treatment wont work I'm afraid as it doesn't kill any eggs left behind so you must do it again.
It's not so much the chemical thing but the fact that no one will tell you you can get this stuff for free! It costs an arm and a leg
Nits! No other "Head"er seems appropriate.

(groan)
ojread2, we only ever gave one treatment, it always worked.

EvianBaby, My Ex wife managed the troupe and she would carry out inspections, certain girls were often infested and some parents were often guilty of not treating their daughters so my ex provided the service to ensure every girl was done as required.
Question Author
ah, JJ I seriously didn't do that on purpose lol

Ratter, I shall have to agree to disagree with you =)
You are both right. Treatments that used to work, no longer do as the nits adapt. The ones that would be affected by the conditioner treatment get wiped out and the few which were not get a "free run". Its like flea treatments in pets.
