I was interested the other day that somebody had posted a question about using an external DVD player on an Acer Aspire One 722 netbook, I to have one of these netbooks running Windows 7 that has Windows media player on it but when I load a DVD into the external drive the computer sees it (I know that because when I click on my computer the title of the disc appears) but for some reason the disc will not play so any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Windows 7 starter (the version supplied on netbooks) doesn't come with the required software to play DVDs

You can either download the required codecs so your currently installed media player will play DVDs

(you can untick the install media player classic option during setup if you want)

Or download another player that will play them.
