Seeing Ann's post about coffee beans, prompted me, can anyone recommend a really nice ground coffee. I have been buying different ones to try them out, but have yet to find one that is perfect. I like about a 4 strength one, but it needs to taste smooth, some are just too bitter. It needs to taste of coffee, some are so weak and taste of nothing. What's your favourite?

I quite like Morrisons own organic fair-trade
Tesco's Finst Colombian. Only £2.50 at present,so I,ve stocked up.
Michael on Cambridge market's Strong Breakfast blend, as I don't like in Cambridge I have to stock up when I'm there.
Jacobs Kronung, it's German, I buy it in a local Polish shop.
Dallmayr Prodomo Coffee, also German .I get it from the German Deli .
Jacobs Kronung is also a lovely cup of coffee .
Sainsbury's Fairtrade Nicaraguan ground coffee......wonderful!
its got to be Douwe Egberts Gold
A few years back Starbucks (at least here in the U.S.) closed all of their stores for one day to retrain the employees on service. They also found that most people that went into Starbucks were unhappy that they couldn't order a standard grind each time they came in... there wasn't anything that they could depend on always being available. They remedied that by producing a middle of the road grind named, appropriately 'Pike Place' (since that was the site of the original store in Seattle).
Now one can always depend on finding Pike Place... it's a medium blend, still just strong enough to support my "leave room for cream, please" order and the use of three sugars (I know, I know). No bitterness but very pleasing...
Always Douwe Egberts for me.......Yummy!!! :-))
recently discovered Aldi's rich roast its not bad at all
Illy, every time
Taylor's Hot Lava Java, very strong and delicious. Cannot stand weak coffee, has to be dark especially for breakfast.
Carte Noir, delicious - they also do a stronger version, it's not for me but if you like really strong coffee, you'd probably like it.
There's nothing to beat Lavazza in my opinion. I have tried them all I think. E.R.
