Can anyone explain to me....
Why is it a hosepipe ban is required..... if the water I flush or wash with.. ends up back in the water 'chain' and comes back out of my tap after filtering and cleaning??????

Surely the water we use - all finds its way back into our water tanks and comes back out of our taps again at some point.. so therefore doesnt run out?

Why must restrictions be imposed?
Where does my waste water go? Into a treatment plant...??? for processing to come back out of my tap???
Surely water cannot vanish.. it always exists in some form whether it be vapour or liquid???

One major problem is noted in the post by Rymnt, "regional water companies".
I heard on t'radio yesterday that Kent has six companies supplying water to the to customers. Nearly as good an idea as the railways south of the border. A few have and are making a fortune off the back of hard pressed householders who pay for leakage as well as what comes out of the tap.
Get the utilities back under national ownership and tell the profiteering bawbags that they can whistle. They've had what they're due.

I hate to ask, why is watering a garden so blooming important?? Watering crops and providing water for cattle, sheep etc is much more important than a blooming begonia.
yeah - he's only 10 but clearly he has been "thinking out the box". He also has plans to deal with the homeless problem - which I am assured does not involve black holes or energy creation!!
I agree alba - said so in post 4, but not quite so straightforward as you did!
annie could he do something about the black hole in my bank account please? I'll make it worth his while:-)
sorry annie. Must read through all the posts before I get me blood pressure up.

I'm liking the sound of your intelligent 10 year old :)
"plans to deal with the homeless problem"

Probably thinking, "In the box".
Do you think that successive government policies encouraging further migration of a large part of our population into the south east corner without upgrading infrastructure such as water supply might have something to do with it?
they are upgrading the infrastructure for water supplies in the south east...

Nosha, it's blooming Murphy's law. The number of folks who planed on getting married in June/July last year, locally, were tiddled on. So not fair.
