Buildings Insurance question

My end gable of my house is roughcast and has had large chunks falling off over the last year or so exposing the brickwork underneath. This wall is very exposed to the weather and takes a battering sometimes. This has now started a small damp problem in the bedroom behind this wall. I am pretty sure that as this is likely a wear and tear cased by weathering and as such feel sure that my buildings insurance wouldn't cover this. Anyone agree or have any thoughts on this?

wish it did - us building firms would be very happy - answer is no - wear and tear is not covered -read your policy it will tell you what you are or more importantly what you're not covered for

Thanks Kristal! Checked my policy but couldn't find anything specific except for storm damage. It has got worse during the storms in January (I'm in Scotland) but I think any assessor would tell that it's been an ongoing and progressive problem.
