Does anyone else watch this, admittedly, down-market programme? It seems to me that if there is a horrible person amongst the group, or an incredibly picky/fussy eater, they are the ones who will win because they score everyone else such low marks. Easy way to win - be a b*****d.

God she's miserable....

Yes!! I've only just switched it on and caught the end of one of the parties and, without knowing how the other parties have gone, it was obvious to me that she would win it.
Down-Market? Who do you think you are,are you one of these arty-farty types, certainly sounds like it.

No I'm not!! Don't be rude - you don't know me. And I really do enjoy the programme.

O.K. :o)
As a guide my OH watched the 'Saturday stack' on C4 yesterday.

And guess what - the picky person won again!

I only saw a very small part of it but she only ate two or three mouthfuls at the most - mostly zero - and simply said 'Ohhhhh I couldnt eat that' (pigeon) or 'I don't like that' (ice cream).

Makes you wonder what she does eat on a daily basis

I saw one set in Glasgow recently and it was really refreshing that every single one of the competitors was a really nice person, they all got on really well, and all gave each other high scores, so the competition was tight. One misery in the bunch would have won it so easily!
God that Tanya, she's just plain rude.
I know why Infomaniac used the term "downmarket", maybe not quite the right term but it is cheap and easy-to-make TV that depends on non-professionals for the entertainment, but I've certainly enjoyed it a fair bit. I think I've seen enough of it now though, and these old ones are doing the rounds for the umpteenth time. It did seem to me that the most annoying person seeemd to win it quite a bit.

By the way Unsureme, someone using the term "downmarket" doesn't make them "arty-farty" (itself an often mis-used term).
Well I like this programme.

Mrs Overall (downmarket AND dead common)

Puternut - is this the one where the picky eater said she had never eaten soup before in her life? Never eaten soup!
I love Come Dine with Me, not least for Dave Lamb's fabulous voiceover which always makes me laugh. It's one of my fave programmes and I don't think it's in the least downmarket, but I agree with you Info, the one set in Glasgow was excellent, so much nicer when they all get on !
Every time they film it in York they put a bunch of nutters on :-(
