Miwok Ridge 2010 Australian Shiraz

One of the best reds I've had lately - full to the brim with flavours of berries and cherries with a hint of vanilla and spice, full bodied and soft on the palate. A good wine for drinking or would make an excellent accompaniment to lamb.

Available in Tesco at £4.99 (down from £9.99).

Interestingly, Miwok Ridge also do a Sauvignon Blanc which is also currently half price in Tesco. If anyone has tried this, I would love to hear their verdict!

sorry wrong box there......! Must be the vino, a Santa Digna Carmenère...
Sunday update :

Emergency visit to my local co-op (unexpected crisps shortage in dave's eating area) found that they are currently selling Marques de Monistrol for £5.99 which is a very good offer for an IWSC prize winning vintage 2007 cava.

Even got another 10% off with my discount card/voucher - so don't bother with my local mini-coop they seem to have run out ;-)

Had a bottle last night - the co-op had chilled it, so it would have been rude not to. Good straw colour, full body & nice and dry without the over-sharpness which can afflict some cavas. Excellent value for £5.99 (although the original £11.99 would be bonkers).

Also have spotted that Aldi will have their excellent Irish Malt Whiskey "Clontarf" back in stock at £14.99 from next Thursday.
