I have helped cater a couple or three weddings over the past few years and a couple of them had hired sweet stalls with all the old faves on show and for eating. No sweet tobacco/spanish gold though.
There is a sweet shop in that model village called Beamish I think that does mail order. This info was dragged out of my fuzzy back-brain so I will check around and see if I remember correctly
Mint Imperials - 6oz in a paper bag from the jar.
Kola cubes...nannas...shrimps....soor plums...
Was it Highland Cow toffee? Or have I imagined that? Anyway, like Cupid, not enough teeth now.
The sweet shop in the Museum town of Beamish is

Just tried to buy some sweeties but the shop is temporarily closed. SIGH.
Walkers 4 a penny caramels
Anyone remember Liquorice Wood - you had to chew, and chew, and chew, and chew, and chew and
a penny bubbly would keep you chewing 'til your jaws got sore.
gness is it McCowan's Highland Toffee you are thinking of? They were a Scottish company which used a picture of a highland cow on the wrappers.

Loved their toffee as a child, both the bars and penny dainties but having been bought over by Nestle' / Rowntrees the product is now sadly a poor immitation. *sigh*
Anyone remember Kalai Lumps ha'penny each in1963
Thank you miss. Guess memory has gone same way as teeth.
Memory, teeth and McCowan`s then Douglas. Thank you
