Would people like David Beckham be judged on their looks if they hadn`t branched out into advertising and the wider world media wise though? If he was still exclusively a footballer would people care that much how he looks? His looks are important because he advertises men`s underpants. Would you want to see Wayne Rooney do that? I don`t think singers should be judged on their looks. I know it`s the video age but when I hear a voice coming out from the radio, I don`t care what the face behind it looks like. I suppose I`m glad I`m from a generation that just liked the music and that`s all.
He'll just have to keep chasing his ideal women....

Agreed 237SJ... but yes, I think he would be. THink about how many derogatory comments there are about Rooney looking like Shrek or that fella at united (I think) who has a rats tail thing in his hair. I do think it's happening more to men too.
Yes, you have got a point about Rooney as he is particularly ugly (I think) but as far as singers are concerned, have you heard anyone complain about a male singer being fat or ugly (apart from the lead singer of The Pogues)?
I'm having a little think now... the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that dappy fella from ndubz but I think he invites it. Same with Marelyn Manson. Meatloaf got a bit of stick I seem to recall and Prince was usually referred to as pint sized or some such thing wasn't he? That's all off the top of my head though but I would agree that it doesn't seem as common as it does for female singers.

I do still think that this fellas comment wasn't THAT offensive really. But I do think we worry too much about looks these days.
its not that he is lying its the fact that the comment is unnecessary, adele isnt a model, her size does not affect her work so why draw attenion to it.

I dont think rooney is particularly ugly but I do think its a shame that the press seem to revel in pointing out physical flaws.

Actually I prefer my women with curves

There's a line where curves become fat........and Adele is well across it
I don't think Rooney is ugly either...
Agreed China. As Lagerfeld comes from the fashion world it is a good job he has an eye for aesthetics and not music (which is probably just as well)!
What's Adele's surname and who is she? Where does Mr Lagerfeld fit into the scheme of things? Is he some sort of nutritionist? I've heard of neither of them so there must be a reason why one's comments about the other is reported in the national press.
Her size would mean very little to me, she's hardly of orca proprotions is she?

What would bother me though is that she likes the Melvyn's, which are a no-no.
New Judge - Lagerfeld was the head of Chanel. A very talented, very prissy old queen who used to walk around wafting himself behind a fan. He came to public attention in the era of the Supermodels and had various models who were his muse. He lost a lot of weight about 10 years ago and looks quite a lot different these days.
Thanks both.

Just had a look at Mr Lagerfeld's mugshot. Is he for real or is he some sort of character from those computer generated films? In any case, he's not really in a position to comment on anybody else's appearance, I fancy!
Well said Ne Judge, bet he looks rough in the mornings.
