I have a KA, it was serviced recently, and all seems fine, except that I need to accelerate more to change up the gears, and it chugs when I brake a little in fourth or fifth gear if I brake a little, didn't do this before!...........any ideas?.....TIA...............

Take it back to the garage that serviced it, something is clearly adrift.

think I will RATTER, something is wrong!....the garage owner is a friend so should be fine!.....was just a bit unsure, in case it's just me!....but I think something is different!.....
aww, you only just had your car fixed, does it do anything else apart from that
Did they replace coil and leads for sure? .. and spark plugs?
Because you have symptoms that could point to these. There are other possibilities, tho.

Oh top_driver, tell me about it!..........more trouble last week, I had a front coil spring snap!..........another repair!...........£150......think I need to change it soon really, but I love my little KA!........works for me!......doesn't seem the same since the last service though, can't work out why!.............
Question Author
yes Albags. they said they did all of that!.........but still it doesn't feel the same!...........
it horrible when you get one thing fixed, and trouble in such a short space of time, get them to put on the diagnostics, maybe you have a faulty sensor or something
£150 to replace a Ka front spring???!!!!

My local garage would do it for around £30 (part) + £17.50 (½ hour labour charge) + VAT = £57.

A couple of years ago the Ford main dealer I was working for replaced TWO springs on my Escort for around £80. (OK, I was getting staff rate for the parts and labour but that was actually still a higher hourly rate than my local garage would charge).

Go somewhere else!!!
