Just thought it may be of interest to "anotheoldgit". It would appear that your rant about Military job losses should not happen while the MOD keeps all the civilian staff. Maybe you should take a look at this; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16747384

Perhaps you would do better to read your own links, before you try your hand at points scoring.

/// An MoD spokesman said: "Reports that the MoD will make a further 3,000 civil servants redundant are inaccurate.///

/// "There are no plans to make any further civilian redundancies beyond what has already been announced to Parliament." ///

/// On Wednesday, MPs said it was "grotesque" that 40% of armed forces redundancies had been compulsory, while no civilian staff had been forced out of a job.///

NOTE NO CIVILIAN STAFF HAD BEEN FORCED OUT OF A JOB.

No one has been forced out because they haven't started the cuts yet, they are coming in over the next 8 years so I imagine they can manage it without having to push too many out. The Government however needs to look at the armed forces and stop the rot that is spreading fast, both rounds of redundancy notifications were oversubscribed leaving the MOD sending out MEMO's stating that personnel would have to stay in their jobs!
As for points scoring I couldn't care less, I have seen many posts placed on here that are rounded on by the regulars for not following their point of view. It almost seems like you are battling against a new political party.
With all the talk of bonuses I wonder how much the person responsible for these cuts will be given?
Wasn't it the Chairman of RBS who came up with this suggestion?
The MoD should use the cuts to get rid of the dross, but they won't. They'll just do a paperwork cut and leave departments critically short making life for the serviceman more difficult.
