Put on your Sunday best perhaps?

The clue could be read as 'S and Y' (ie. first and last letters of Saturday or Sunday). Might help!
Put on your Sunday best perhaps?

thank you so much.at least i don't have to hand it in unfinished now.
i was totally stumped.
So is Sandy regarded as a posh way of saying Sunday, hence 'put on your Sunday best'?
Factor, the reason I added perhaps and a question mark was that I had no blessed idea what it had to DO with sandy! I was just pleased that my phrase fitted the letter-pattern and contained a day-name.
Maybe Santan will tell us what the other questions/answers were like so that we can see whether sandy = Sunday was at all likely. I may well, of course, have missed something glaringly obvious.

4th OF JULY ASBURY PARK (SANDY) BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
Tony - you've put me to shame - there's me an avid Bruce fan, and I didn't spot it!
Who the heck is Sandy and - if it's a name - why doesn't it have a capital letter in the question? I was trying to come by an answer involving beaches to start with!
