Esta---what will stop me being approved???

Hi....im applying for an esta form to go and do some charity work...
back in 2000,my friend left a supermarket with unpaid items....although i didnt have any...but i did leave the shop with this person...we were both taken to the police station but not charged or arrested.........would this stop me being approved for the esta form?

it was a very long time ago and i never on the wrong side of the law...i hope this wont afect me

ah great!!! i just wanna make sure im doin it all correct so that nothing can come back on me.....if i dont mention it,will they decline me or anything? there was never any arrest or charge for it tho??

sorry im prob just bein over cautious,lol....never been outta UK to have to check it out before.....so basically,i'll be fine,just dont note anything if asked for convictions etc?

If you haven't got any convictions, you can't mention them, can you?
The ESTA will ask about any criminal record. You say you don't have a criminal record. What precisely are you concerned about?

thanks so much for your help ;-) as u can see im pretty clueless,lol
and yes thats very true,there was no convictions r that,just bascially a telling off,but wuda been on record that we were in...so alls good ;-)
It might be on record that you had a telling-off at the police station, but you've no convictions!
You do need to make sure though that the 'charity work' you are going to do doesn't require you to have a visa. The US are very strict about visitors not working.
