just wondered if anyone else had similar experiences selling on ebay?

last month i sold an item and ebay have refunded tonight as buyer didn't receive his item, but the buyer opening a case sent a message with case saying post office had left a calling card and has no-one was home it went back to sorting office, but the buyer left it almost 4 weeks to collect so post depot have passed it on elsewhere.

how can ebay say this is my fault and ebay bang on about buyer protection but where's the seller protection??

I completely agree. No seller protection, which is why I don't sell on eBay anymore.
If there was a calling card and the buyer didn't collect it, the item will come back to you (provided of course that you put a return address on the back of the package, and/or there was a despatch note inside the packet). This has happened to me a couple of times, the item always comes back to me in due course so I can relist it.
yes the buyers an eejit, but you will get it back in due course... ask the buyer for the details of his local post office so you can chase it up ... if you haven't left a return address then they may open it to check the delivery slip.

the buyer may have just changed his mind and this is the only way he can get a refund... otherwise he would have asked you to resend it when you got it back.

be sure to not this on his feedback... i find IfYouWriteLikeThisYouCanFitMoreIntoTheSmallBo

im not suggesting you *** him off, just note what happened. buyer didnt collect parcel and it was returned and you had to refund... it will make him think twice next time
I don't buy either. They have absolutely no protection at all or rather perhaps I should say the protection they provide is so complicated that in the end you give up.

thanx but i thought that due to the fact he didn't collect when post man put a card through the door is grounds enough not to refund, as me as a seller have packaged and shipped and buyer has even said this.

think of knocking ebay on the head now cus it is beginning far to often, people are just playing the ebay system to get their goods for.
What an idiot! (I mean the buyer, not you!) :-)

I agree, they shouldn't have refunded him. It was his faulty entirely.

Did you put your address on the item?

yes i did put my details on the parcel but i wont hold my breathe on the item coming back as i found out that unclaimed items go down to a warehouse in devon. at this warehouse all items are sorted and sold or destroyed (money from sales keeps the building running).
i think this is wrong and i have sent the buyer a very unpleasant message with strong language in it telling him how lazy he is and it wouldn't hurt to get off his fat a*se..
