Fake hairbrush??

Has anyone ever heard of fake Mason Pearson hairbrushes selling on the internet? Bought one recently, it seems very different to one I had years ago. It looks similar but I'm not happy about using it and think my hair has noticeably disimproved. Maybe it's just modern progression!
