I have a Vaio VGN-Z750D laptopwith a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ862AS drive which plays DVDs without problems. However when a CD is inserted, after a few seconds the drive ejects it without any error message or explanation.

My system is Win7 home premium 64 bit. I have tried to play several different CDs, but the result is always the same.

Sorry AlBags: It will play audio CDs I've made myself and it will read data CDs.

Solved. It was due to having the software DigiTV installed.
