I have tired of sending cards at Christmas, it is such a waste of card etc., and very expensive for the postage.

close family will get cards, and my children will still give cards out at school. I will, however, swap my card sending for a donation to either the East Anglian Childrens' hospice or Clic sargent this year.

I didnt even say presents, I said more important things. To me that does not include presents. To me that would be giving to a worthy cause. I think most keep on here have said they send to close family and people they dont see that often.
You don't need first class stamps, missprim, there's still a week left for second class.
4getmenot I know you didn't say presents but what I meant was people do buy presents and say they can't afford to send cards.
boxtops I don't know why I put 1st class stamps I always use 2nd class :-)
LOL, I only use first class for stuff I want to get there quicker than slow.
i've stopped sending cards, not because i can't afford to but that i've come to believe that it's a waste of a number of things ... my time, my money, paper, ink, glue, etc. the money now goes to charity instead.
i now only send to the 'oldies' in the family, and one friend who was absolutely horrified that she wouldn't receive a card from us so i've sent her the naffest one i could find.
////so i've sent her the naffest one i could find.////
How mean ethandron, not quite full of festive cheer are you?
i'm full of festive cheer actually, i feel my friend is being daft by being so horrified and not accepting my decision, everyone else has. she's a good friend so she'll appreciate the naff card...
Missprim, that 30 quid that I will spend on the loo in all likelihood will not be available throughout the year. Most of the people I send cards to I only do so because I get one fom them, anyone who means something to me I'm in touch with anyway so as I'd rather someone in need benefited from my money than a few people in my phonebook who I rarely see or have contact with.
Forgive me, rocky, I had to look back for your earlier post - a hugely worthy cause, we contribute to Send a Cow, but it made me laugh to read your post "that £30 I spent on the loo" - the mind boggled!
Make a list and prioritise. For clubs, work etc., arrange to all out in a donation to a local charity (we have Devon Air Ambulance and Shelterbox this year). See how many you can deliver by hand. I put family cards together in one envelope (children, gandchildren etc). I post the rest - usually old friends I write to once a year with our news - I look forward to reading their news too!

Although ast year I took the family Christmas cards by hand and the children complained that they had sent theirs
Boxtops, I just reread my post lol, could have been put better.
