they *really* make hard work of it!
In what way...???
Good to see all the racists and Little Englanders coming out of the woodwork. At least we know who you are!
Are you a linguist Markrae?
Yes, mungbeanz.
Or to put it another way D9

Le fromage mangeant singe de reddition
^^ Dearie me!
I'm a French linguist and MarkRae is correct. So is Messi too, by the way :-)
Messi is just someone who thinks he knows about people on AB, but actually knows nothing, especially as this site, unlike some, is not open to information on individuals, racists and Little Englanders what a crock.
raw nerve toughed there I think, not for the first time. Ah well, tin hat on :-)
always think it funny that some pull out the idiot race card, knowing nothing of the people, their views, lives, or indeed anything to do with them, so get off the soapbox, if some want to take the michael out of a politician and how many do that to DC, then prepare for some back, raw nerve no, just sick and tired of this stupid race issue.
agree em - especially as, for most ABers, it is in jest......
Squabbling notwithstanding it is sarko-zeeeeee and Markrae is absolutely correct. For some strange reason I didn't know when I passed 'O' level French. Having lived in France for a couple of years I can affirm that teachers of French in the UK are rubbish (mostly)
DT, there's nothing funny about racism!
I think, strictly speaking, French doesn't stress any syllable - all should have the same value. But it's difficult for an English person to do that without sounding as though he/she is trying to be clever; we naturally want to stress one part of a word because that's the way we do it in English.
^ I meant, when speaking English and putting a French word or name into the middle of it.
If you don't want people playing the "idiot race card" then stop acting like an idiot racist, would be my friendly advice, especially when you aren't one, which I'm sure you aren't (but, as you say yourself, how can we know for sure lol)
