Good Morning, Everyone,

Hope you're all well .....Lovely and sunny here on the south coast and the wind's dropped. .and hope it's nice too where you are.

A bit of early morning fun......The Golden Hour......The lovely and funky Mark Collins will play some cool hits and cover some news topical headlines for a particular year......all you need to do is tell me what you think that year is......I'll let you know near the end.

The clue for this morning's.....is.....This is the year the first McDonald's restaurant opened in London......no google ooogling please......anyone got it yet?

Best of luck with all your guesses, maybe if you put some insight into how you think you know or what you were doing in this year to remember it..... and hope you enjoy the tunes :0)

Re-fill time......I always have a mug of coffee near me when i'm working.:0)

Travel and ads coming up......you have approx 2 mins.
I remember Don't be Cruel now- it was a very slow track.
I hate the TOWIE accents on one of these ads. Oh no, Devina again. How many ads do they need. I should have out the kettle on. Must be 6 ads in this break. Any more and I'll turn off
Next: 3 degrees

LOL...this is a south coast radio station, factor....not from TOWIE...and they keep the ads down to a bear ( get it?) minimum and get more hits played in an hourvthan most stations.........with Moyles on Radio 1 for instance, you're lucky to get 5 tunes in an hour.

The Walrus Of Love is next....great tune.....love it!

I must admit though that Davina's voice is slightly annoying.....they should use Jethro instead. :0)
Another great memory of that year, I was seeing Diane, a back girl , she insisted she wasn't coloured, and were on a trip to the old Fiesta club in Sheffield to see the Three Degrees sitting in the gold seats right at the front and when they came right across the stage and sang in front of us as if it was just for us. Sadly it didn't last but every time I hear that track I remember that night as if it was yesterday
Susie Quatro, in those tight black leathers

Thanks again for taking part today......have a great weekend.....i'm off out to enjoy the winter sunshine and mingle with the masses....may see you next week before we go away fro Christmas.

The year was.......... 1974

Question Author
Slade's Far Far Away confirms......(seems factor may have got fed up with the little ads.....lol.....hope not.)

Brill day and w/e, guys

bear out :0) xx
Sorry- I had to miss the second half hour. There were some good tunes in there it seems. I loved most singles from 1974 (even though I was also into albums- Floyd, Bad Company etc), and can still identify any top 30 single from that year within a few notes. Did they not play Seasons in the Sun or Bay city rollers or Sweet?

Regarding the ads, it sounded like a TOWIE accent to me on that ad with 2 girls talking- something about earrings
