Tesco have half-price free range chickens and lovely cauliflowers for 42p each this week. So it's roast chicken and veg on Sunday, then I'll make stock from the chicken which will go with the cauliflower into soup which I'll freeze in portions. Then I'll use chicken leftovers in various ways and bake some sourdough bread. That's me fed for a week for less than 3 quid and it's healthy stuff.

That's not really less than £3 though, is it?
You're surely using other cupboard ingredients, though?

I only spent £3 on chicken and cauli. The rest is store cupboard stuff.
Is it just for you?
Oh, I hope they've got an offer on chicken fillets too. I'm thinking fajitas tonight.
I went up there this morning and although I spent a lot, it was good to see that, as promised, a lot of their prices have indeed dropped.

And cat.
Does your cat not eat cat food?
Question Author
Not like Asda advertising roasting beef joints on TV for £4.44 per kilo and in store even brisket is £6, roast is £10.
A cat is partial to a few bits of chicken, though, ummmm - and Black Spot got through two florets of broccoli too, the other day!
Question Author
Cat eats cat food but she's 16 and partial to a little chicken. Her catfood is pound for pound more expensive than my food.
What weight is the chicken?
I'm hoping to pop into Tesco tomorrow. I've got £46 worth of clubcard vouchers to use.
The 42p caulis in my Tesco were so small-they fit in the palm of my hand. I can eat a whole one.
A huge one from Iceland weighing several pounds was a better deal for me.
Question Author
Not in my Tesco. They had all sizes.
