Ive got to come up with a pressie for a friends 40th. I have seen a good deal on paintballing on groupon and could book for him and 9 guests to go for a day, something which i know he would enjoy.
anyway, i can only afford the basic package and it would mean that extra ammo would have to be bought at a further £25 approx each.
Now im wondering if his mates would feel annoyed at having to cough up the money.
so, what i want to know is, would you go to such a birthday or would you be annoyed at having to pay for extras and refuse to go?

I would pay. If you went to a party you would have to bring alcohol, or in a pub you would pay for drinks too. £25.00 isn't that much really.
That wouldn't bother me at all....
I wouldn't be annoyed, but I might be embarrassed in these straightened times that I couldn't really afford to pay the 'extras'......and make an excuse to avoid the outing.
why not phone round and get EVERYONE to put in something to start with, if they want to come? x

i havnt called around because this is our birthday present to him. It would still pay for a couple of hours of ammo for the others, and also their lunch. Plus, it would be for the birthday guy to invite the friends of his choice.

thanks jack, for your honesty.
red, Ive never been, its not my thing, though i'd expect to pay for say treatments if a friend had a spa day.
Will they have notice?
Question Author
yes, they will. He will be given a voucher to book it when he wants to.
No worries then. He'll know who to invite and how much notice some might need to put a few quid aside if things are tight.

Nice present btw :-)
I wouldn't be annoyed but having never been paint balling and also never particularly wanting to give it go, I would probably not want to pay the extra £25 to do it as I would think that is quite expensive and I don't think I could justify the expense at the moment for something I am not really interested in. Plus I would probably have already brought the person a present for around that amount so it would be like spending extra to me.

I guess it depends on the financial situation of everybody else attending really.

ah well, i have booked it now lol
Contact the others and tell them the basic package is booked, with the option for individuals to take extra ammo if they wish.

i would lankeela, if i had any idea who he may invite lol. Mr CRX will no doubt be invited and he already knows he has to pay the extra.
