I've got a pretty painting for my living room and it's canvas. I don't really want to frame it so any suggestions on how I can hang it? tia.

China --you obviously need some one like my late father. He could do all household things with a six inch nail and a hammer.Only joking not a proper answer.
flat unmounted canvas or block?
I have two block canvases and I simply hung the block on a normal picture hanging nail.
If it is on a wooden stretcher put small screw in rings into the side pieces about 6 inches down and stretch some wire very tightly across then hang on a picture hook or nails

Sorry to take so long to get back. It's a flat canvas rowanwhitch. My son in law painted it a while back. There's no holes in it but I could make some and then see what happens. China
I would have it stretched then it is easy to hang. Will look better also.
Thing is, canvas responds to humidity changes, and the edges will start to roll up over time if you don't mount it in some way.
BTW, what kind of mind provides an answer to this query that was so vile it had to be removed?
Don't make holes in it. Whatever you do, use a staple gun.
