Jam in cupcakes

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to stop the jam in cupcakes sinking to the bottom? No matter close to the top I try putting it, it always sinks.

I can't think of any bakers who do that. Not saying the dry mix idea is wrong by any means. But I think you'd get a nicer finish by piping it in when cooled after baking. Golden syrup or maple syrup is especially nice. Even nicer if you mix the maple syrup through your buttercream for a topping. Yum!
