Sorry if this is in the wrong section but - does anyone have a very rough figure for what it might cost to have a gas hob and electric oven built in please. It would need to be from scratch as I just have a free standing gas cooker at the moment. [Really want an elec oven so I can make cakes]. I would really appreciate your help to decide whether or not it will be worth it. Thank you.

I used to make cakes in a gas oven - you don't need electric just for that?

No, I know, but I think elec is more reliable. Gas temp does vary a bit.
I guess the easiest way would be to put a built-in elec oven into the space where the cooker is now. Then set a piece of worktop over this ........ with a gas hob set in.
Gas supply is already there.
I'm afraid there are too many variables to give a realistic idea of cost.

Cost of oven housing
Cost of oven & hob
Type of worktop
Proximity of elec supply and route of 6mm or 10mm cable
Adapting housing to fit.

Thanks The Builder, I may get someone in to give me a quote. Oven & Hob are about £200 together in homebase, so that's a start!
