Did Dr Foxs young friend fancy himself as a James Bond figure.?
I have read that in his nefarious deals,with goodness knows
who,he was known to whip out his false business card,depicting
the Houses of Parliament Portcullis logo and proclaim,"Her Majestys
Government is behind this deal"!....that is illegal,no?

That's why his activities and his relationship with Dr Fox are being investigated. He's putting himself about as a government advisor but he's not on the payroll.
werritty = wascally wabbit
I must admit when I heard his name, I related it to Ron Weasly...
/// and proclaim,"Her Majestys Government is behind this deal"!....that is illegal,no? ///

Have you proof that he is in fact proclaiming that?

His business card reads Adam Werritty, Advisor to Rt. Hon. Dr. Liam Fox MP.

Completely wrong I know, but I have read nothing that states he carries out business deals by stating Her majesty's Government is behind any deals he makes.

Thanks for the link, but I am afraid it still doesn't actually prove anything.

/// Someone familiar with Mr Werritty's modus operandi told The IoS last night: "He is the sort of person who is very useful to someone trying to increase British exports... He can whip out his card and say, 'HMG is behind this deal', and that impresses a lot of the countries to whom we are trying to sell and increases the status of the deal.///

And that is only speculation by 'someone familiar with Mr Werritty's modus operandi', whoever that is.

maybe the Indy are keeping their powder dry?
i don't see what's wrong with claiming he is an adviser to liam fox - perhaps Mr fox rigs him up to say "what should i wear today" and Mr werrity looks out the window and say "take a waterproof jacket with you, it's going to rain"
PS does anyone (probably my age ish) laugh in their head when they call him "Dr Fox"
Yes bednobs :-)

thanks for your valuable contribution bednobs
the "Doctor, doctor fox" goes through my head too boxy!
It might deteriorate more into Carry on Doctor, bednobs :-)
Could he not have been a bit more subtle? Mrs Thatcher's son made himself a fortune by trading on his family connections.
I don't suppose he had a business card with: 'I have my mothers ear' on it.
I don't think anyone's claimed that he did say this, only that he 'can'. Given that the source is not named, I wouldn't put too much faith in it. Even if he did say this, it might be untrue but I don't know if it would be illegal.

And of course it might not be untrue.
He will probably go and work for Tony Blair - he has the necessary credentials it appears.

As the former special adviser John McTernan contends,Cabinet Ministers
most precious assets are"there time,their attention and their intelligence".
and Fox gave Werritty the unimpeded run of all three.Given the competing
demands on a Defence Secretary involved in two conflicts abroad,to have
made a priority of the demands of an old mate is a gross failure of judgment
and in itself grounds,says McTernan,to disqualify Fox from his post.
they call him Air Miles Adam
