Ssplat!! a full bottle of veg oil fell from wall cupboard on to worktop - burst. After splashing wall and top it then rolled to floor which is still very slippery after 8 washes with detergent. Can I use suger soap on laminated floor and on walls, which are probably plaster-board? Someone may have a bright idea.

Oo-er! If your walls have ordinary emulsioned wallpaper, (not vinyl), try this... Hold a paper towel against the wall and apply an electric iron set to ''warm''. The towel should absord much of the oil. Repeat using fresh paper towels. Once no more oil is coming off, coat the wall liberally with talcum powder, leave for a few hours, then dust it off. Repeat. Leave the wall for a few days, then try coating it with an oil-based undercoat. Once this is dry, emulsion over. Good luck!
Would sprinkling sand down help ? Less slippery to walk on and hopfully it may soak up the oil. Just a guess on my part.
cloths washing powder (not liquid) in a bucket of water should do it.
