im in holland working and soon to go offshore, im sharing digs with 2 other guys, 2 nights ago my taxi didnt come to take me to work ( bosses fault , he forgot to book them in ) and it is not my responsibility to pay or book taxi,s, anyway the 2 other guys in my digs are on day shift and they went straight in and told the boss that i didnt go into work. it has caused some friction now as im going to have to go offshore and work with these 2 , im trying to put it to back of my head but i feel like blowing up, it wasnt their place to do that , it was my place, i would of told him anyway as he would of knew the work hadnt been done that was set out for me. what would you do ? just ignore and get on with it? how can u work with someone like that and sit and eat at same table as them ? the same 2 guys are really jealous of the money im getting and also they are just stuck up the bosses a** .

The key to this my friend is to let them know that you know they told him but in a p155 taking derisory way as though they are something to be laughed at. Whatever you do don't let them know they've got a rise out of you or they'll be jumping through hoops- just make em feel like little kids who've gone twitting to the teacher, which tbh is exactly what they are and then forget it, it's not worth getting angry over, it's annoying but don't dwell on it, it's ot worth your energy.
they are trying to make you look bad, so just be the most amazing employee. But don't make it too obvious.
Tell them you've had a huge payrise.
i don't get the problem -the boss needed to be told you didn't go in because he didn't book the taxis and they told him - so what?
Didn't you contact the company and tell them that the taxi hadn't come, or did you just sit back and take a day off? If my transport hadn't arrived, I'd have been on the phone smartly. If the other two thought that you were dossing about I can see why they would have said something. Surely you told the boss that you weren't in, before they got to him? He could then have put them straight.

thanks.....the boss was back in uk on holiday with his family, when on leave he is not to be disturbed, he block books all the taxi,s , trains, flights etc for the company. i am not going to fork out 64 euro of my money because company forgot to bok our taxi. it was nightshift i was on so what was i meant to do at that time of night ? bednobs you seem to have a negitive answer to all my posts on here, whats wrong with you, either say something positive or give sound advice or just plain and simple do not post !
Personally I would have made a call to someone or paid for a taxi myself and then tried to reclaim it. You need to clarify with your employer now what they expect you to do if the taxi doesn't come.
Did you get paid for that day even though you did'nt go in? If so, I can see why your wokmates may have been a bit peeved.
But I agree with the others- don't make an issue of it with your workmates
it's a public forum. personally i don't think "all" my answers are negative, but do find it incredibly hard to take your posts seriously. You are moving to Asia, then the next month you are moving to folkestone, then the next month you are moving to Canada, then next you are moving to Australia, then you moved to Holland.
Also, you daughter is 3, then the next month she's 2 and a half, then she's 2. As i said, i find your posts extremely hard to take seriously
how do you know the circumstances?

perhaps the boss asked them...what were they going to do, lie for you?

maybe he already suspected you hadnt gone in and wanted clarification...after all - he knew he hadnt booked the taxis so maybe wanted to check who had gone in...

they maybe had no choice but to tell him.

id find out before you start accusing them of underhandedness...

and how do you even know they said anything?
did the boss tell you theyd gone straight in an 'grassed you up'...?

as for paying for a taxi...you could have claimed it back, so thats really not a very good excuse not to go to work and not bother to tell anyone...you say you would have told him...well, when?
did your boss call you about it? or did you find out what theyd done when they got back that evening?

this situation sounds like circumstances will make all the difference
