strange voices when using electric drill

I was using my battery operated drill to drill a hole in the internal brickwork of my detached house. When I stopped with the drill still in the wall I could hear very faint voices coming from the drill. So faint I could not hear what was being said but they were definiteley voices. I have heard that houses can behave like a giant aerial but the sound was not electronic. It seemed like a conversation going on in an office with typing in the backround. The nearest office to me is a school about three hundred metres away.

Any explanation please?

If you could have heard what was being said it was probably something like "that bloke next door has just drilled a hole through our wall".

Well I dont know what causes it but sometimes when I am in bed I can hear what sounds like voices. Not loud enough to hear what is being said. and we live in a detached house in a rural area. I have always felt that maybe it is radio signals that we pick up. No I am not bonkers. Mym Mum told me she hears them too which mabe confirms what I think about radio waves and perhaps some people are more suseptable than others
