As I've mentioned, my grandad was diagnosed recently with prostate cancer that's spread to every bone in his body, it's been tough coming to terms with this as he's always been indistructable in my eyes... well it turns out I was right!
He was told by his consultant yesterday that his bones are still strong enough to run so tomorrow morning he's joining me, my brother and my auntie on a 15 mile run! I can guarantee the only thing he'll moan about is the heat!!

ha, I know, so much for hanging up the runners! He's already saying he'll run the Liverpool Half Marathon in March!
aznd weight bearing exercise may help him maintain a degree of bone density if he's careful but the biggest plus is to his self esteem... really pleased for you both..
That's great news.
I admire his spirit. I hope you all enjoy your run tomorrow.
Nice to hear that pa-ul, he sounds like a very positive and determined elder Citizen. Good for him
All the best
Good on him may he go on many more with you . Andy
No wonder you are so proud of him pa-ul3. Courageous man, much to be admired.

I am incredibly proud! It really puts every little niggle I have into perspective and he's massively motivational.
And cheers Rowan, that is something we know he's got to watch, he won't be doing any runs on his own just to be on the safe side but my mum was saying you could just see the lift the news has given him!
Good for him, what a great attitude to have. Good luck to you both.
My friends husband has just been told the same sad news that his prostate cancer has spread to his bones - lets hope he continues to fight like your Grandad as he is the most active and young looking "well over 80" year old I know! All the very best to your Grandad and the family x
