I am trying to find out if there are any ways of identifying if an account is a child's trust fund or a savings account.

Trying to pay some money into grandchild's account which I don't want them to access until they are 18. If it is a childs trust fund, then they can't access it but if it is a standard savings then mum can access it anytime.

The Sort Code / Account number are the usual Halifax details, but the account number reference is a sequence of numbers. Someone mentioned that there should be letters for the Nationwide CTF but wondered if any ABers have one that they can check for me.

Thanks

not sure, but if you don't trust the mum, why not set up an account yourself?
Why not ring Nationwide or go into one of their branches and ask?
