i need some advise please my hall and kitchen have started to have a stale smell (the kind of smell when a dishcloths not had all the water squeezed out n its started to dry, hope that makes sense lol) at the same time my washing machine is overfilling with water it still works but i have to watch how much water goes in and then click it to the next cycle. i dont know if there connected and im unsure who to get in first, im not sure if i need a washer repair man or a plumber as im in rented accommodation and the plumber will be sent from the housing association....dont even know if its a coincidence...any help or advice would be great

sounds like the programme switch on your washer is on the blink, may be connected to the stale water smell!..not sure, but would get the washer checked out asap..........
I would try your washing machine on a hot wash cycle using washing soda and see if that made a difference.
Every so often you should clean out the soap dispenser drawer (take it out and give it a really good clean), plus the compartment the drawer goes into. Then once you've put it back put your machine onto the hottest wash it will do (mine is 90 degrees) without putting any washing powder in.
To keep the drum fresh between washes put a "Breeze" fabric conditioner sheet inside..............
