I received a parking ticket for parking in a permitted place with a disabled blue badge, but forgot to set the time on the 'clock' card that goes with it. Consequently, I received a ticket because the clock was set at 09:30, but the car was stated to have been first seen at 15:25, when the ticket was issued. A photo was supplied noting the time at 15:33, which would mean that I had been parked there (while visiting my grand-daughter in hospital) for 6 hours!! I have informed them that it was a simple case of forgetting to set the 'clock', but they're not having any of it! I've since been advised that to prove that I had actually been there for that length of time, the parking authority must have a photo of the car at rest in the same place for each three hour period, so that the evidence is irrefutable. Does anyone know if this is correct? I obviously wasn't visiting for a whole six hours, so how can I prove it otherwise?

I don't see how you can prove it, unless you can prove you were elsewhere for the rest of the time?
Just pay up. It is part of the conditions that you display your clock at the right time when parking. You failed to do so.
numan - was this on a council car park, street parking, or a private car park?
sorry numan - you made the mistake so you have to take the consequences - why would you think otherwise?
Is it a parking fine- or is it one of those parking charges that are generally regarded as unenforceable
