I have a question about a plant which I have asked on Home & Garden. The people who have answered, want me to describe it, so they know what plant it is - is there any way I could take a photo of it, and post it on this website?   I am not technical, so if it is possible, please tell me in simple terms how to do it - and thanks everyone in advance x

You can't put a photo on this website, but you can upload a photo to a picture-hosting site, and then copy the link to a question or answer on this site.

Someone will probably be along soon with a couple of suitable sites (you should be able to do it for free!).

...... or like this .............

Are there any websites where I can view photographs of plants, to try to find the one I am looking for? :)

Presumably you have already taken a picture of your plant and uploaded it into My Pictures. Now click here and look for a box saying Browse. Click on Browse and all of your My Pictures will appear. Find your plant, right click on it and press Select. You will see that the address of your plant has appeared in a box against Browse. Now click on Host It and wait for your picture to be uploaded. You will then see that a URL for websites has also appeared under your picture, highlight this, right click and press Copy. Return to this thread, open Post an Answer and in the box position your cursor somewhere then Right Click and press Paste. Now press your Enter key. Your URL should turn red and become underlined. Anyone on AB can now click on this link and see your plant !! A lot of words, but very easy to do. If you hit a snag post here and I or someone else will unravel.

Thanks tatty rollox with an x (sorry can't spell), I get as far as highlighting URL, but don't know exactly what to highlight .. I have tried a couple of the boxes like Thumbnail for Websites and Hotlink for Websites, copy and paste them as you said, but they don't turn red and become underlined, so I think I am highlighting the wrong thing ... help please !! Your explanation was good though !

Hello, judie. I've just tried it a couple of times above myself to check. When your picture is on ImageShack, look below it to the 5th URL which says "Direct link to Image". Left click on this so that it turns blue, and then right click on it and press Copy. Close ImageShack and return to Post an Answer on AnswerBank. Position your cursor (you must be able to see it flicking) as if to commence a sentence then right click and press Paste. Your URL will appear in black. Now press the Enter key on your keyboard and the URL will turn red and you have a live link !!! Looking forward to seeing your photograph.

Tatty.
