"I was lied to" seems to be an obvious candidate.
Question Author
I think he has "used-up" that excuse
Maybe it was an internship?
Is it not the case that up to this point the phrase has been "if it is found that I have been lied to..." ?
what's the next bit - "I shall be quite cross"?

I do appreciate the sentiment that he thought everyone deserved a second chance. Has anyone asked him if it applies to rioters?
Question Author
should be "Calamity"Cameron - he denies ,then does a U-turn,then
says"What a fool I"ve been" - but he believes in giving a chap a
second chance - ..yeah right..pull the other one..it"s got bells on!
The next bit was "... that would be the moment for a profound apology. In that event, I can tell you I will not fall short."
one should not lightly expect profundity from Caemron; but I shall try.
Question Author
thanks ABerrant - i remember he said that
The only really sincere MP in the House is Caroline Lucas (Green Party).
Question Author
you must be from Brighton lol - Ms Lucas can say what the hell she
likes ,no danger of putting her thoughts into action
No, but she doesn't sell out to anyone. She stands up for what she believes in, even though she is a bit of a lone voice.

If all MPs suddenly decided to be truthful and sincere, erm ...

... no, actually, Parliament would probably just fall apart.

After three hundred years of "Teflon Tony" and his batallion of spin doctors, employed at other people's expense, "Parliament" and "sincerity" have become pretty much mutually exclusive, I think.
Question Author
granted - but Tony Bliar - was the nearest facsimile, the Lab could
come up with to emulate a "Tory" - he was Tory Tony - a Tory in disguise
Ya, I guess you're right, To-ry.
Question Author
Bliar should still be made to account for the lies told ,that took our Forces
to Iraq - just so he could stand shoulder to shoulder with the idiot Dubya
and fulfill his dream of going down in history as a "War hero, warrior"PM

His chicanery and lies have cost 1000"s of needless, innocent peoples deaths

But I suppose that is all "water under the bridge" to most folks now
in our frenetic world ,of "what"s next - that"s so boring now"
Jayne, Caroline Lucas was ten years old when Dennis Skinner was first elected as an MP. He could give her lessons in sincerity!
